I think it should stay clean and simple. to many things moving on a page usually slows it down... example I really hate myspace

Allowing SWF widgets on the front page would be a godsend. It's difficult to showcase my best work because it's animated.

I know that limitations and restrictions would have to be made, but it would be a boon to the community's animators to allow them to play short loops and snippets right on their pages -- without the need to host GIF files offsite.

That's the kind of animation I'd like to see.
