I can only begin by assuming this work is reactionary, which is to say that you had a thought or heard something which inspired you, and you reacted to it by making this.
Since I cannot understand the connotation of the work directly, I'll only operate from a visual standpoint.
The work is somewhat small, I think, to accomplish its true task. A lot of artists who use minimalist ideals really prefer to create a "wave of color," where a viewer steps up to their work and is overcome by this huge wall of color. So, by this model, this wave of color is truly muted (hence the name, I suspect).
What is interesting, here is the combination of pixelized shapes and somewhat organic lines, which have been dropped back.
Actually, if you want the full scope of the project, look at "Puncture" and "Losing Hope" as well (in that order, they're supposed to be viewed: Puncture, Losing Hope, Mute... and there's 2 more after Mute). What I'm trying to do is abstractly show one girl's experience with heroin through imagery, and shape and color relations (and the size and orientation of the workable area). Each image has a little quote that goes along with it (I am yet to add one to Puncture though) to better explain the image and keep the "story" going.
Thanks for the comment!

Again, I abseloutly love how you're using color in these. I think it's a lot harder to understand the relation through the shapes, for me at least. Fantastic words.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
