This month's wallpaper is representative of the Roman festival "Februalia" — a festival of ritual purification, and also where February gets its name.
I built the wallpaper from an image of the ocean surface and an image of an amethyst geode, amethyst being February's birthstone.
Over the four days I worked on this wallpaper, the imagery, while taken from photos has, for me, transformed into this undulating image of mystery. Sure, I can pick out the amethyst and waves, but I'm also able to pick out way more that isn't actually there — people, faces, scenes, surfaces...
What do you see?
I see kinda mountains and water, btw this is impressive, love it!
Wow, you sure got my attention!
very high quality work! love it! and thank you for sharing it
Thanks! I needed something new.
Awesome creation! I love the colors (:
this is so awesome! It feels so deep!!
All I see is a cool desktop wallpaper.
You've got some really delightful texture present in this image and it's actually pretty nostalgic for me due to my formative activities with some crystal-growing set which I never knew how to work as a kid. Such connotations do satisfy all gratification about the image and so I don't need to explore further meaning through that which I may/not see otherwise through the dense and abundant composition. While it'd be contrived for myself, it'll be of interest to see what others take from the image!
